How the Society is governed
Governance here is not a document on a wall; it is a set of rules defining who decides, under what authority and to whom they are accountable.
The Society operates under approved bylaws and publishes an annual report covering its scientific and awareness work and financial position. The full documents below are available for reference.
Regulatory framework
The bylaws govern the Board’s formation and powers, membership conditions and categories, and how the general assembly convenes. Amendments require the general assembly and supervising authority; the Board cannot amend them unilaterally.
Financial transparency
The annual report presents the Society’s income and expenditure by source and use. Sponsorship of any event or publication is disclosed on the material itself so readers know who funded it.
Conflicts of interest
Anyone contributing to a clinical guideline or approving scientific content discloses relevant relationships before work begins.
- A written disclosure precedes participation in any committee producing scientific content.
- Members abstain from voting on any item in which they have a direct interest.
- The sponsor is disclosed on the material it funded, not only in a separate report.

Governance questions
When is the annual report published?
At the end of each financial year. It is published here after Board approval and presentation to the general assembly.
Does the Society receive support from pharmaceutical companies?
Events or publications may be sponsored, in which case the sponsor is disclosed on the material itself. Sponsors do not influence a clinical guideline or its recommendations.
