Message from the Chair

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Saudi Epilepsy Society, a national platform dedicated to advancing epilepsy care and improving the quality of life of people living with epilepsy and their families. Through our services, educational programs, awareness initiatives, professional development opportunities, and trusted resources, we strive to support patients and caregivers, empower healthcare professionals, and contribute to a more informed and compassionate community across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders, and its impact extends far beyond its medical aspects. It can affect a person’s education, work, social life, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life. At the Saudi Epilepsy Society, we therefore believe that improving the lives of people with epilepsy requires a comprehensive approach that brings together excellence in healthcare, public awareness, continuing medical education, scientific research, patient and family empowerment, and collaboration across relevant healthcare sectors and specialties.

Our Society aspires to serve as a leading national platform that brings together healthcare professionals, specialists, researchers, patients, and families to advance a comprehensive approach to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of epilepsy, while contributing to the continuous improvement of epilepsy care across the Kingdom.

We are committed to advancing professional and scientific knowledge through conferences, educational programs, workshops, and scientific activities; promoting the exchange of expertise and best practices; and supporting research and innovation in epilepsy and the neurosciences. At the same time, we place strong emphasis on raising public awareness, addressing misconceptions surrounding epilepsy, and reducing the stigma that many people living with epilepsy may experience.

The patient remains at the heart of everything we do. We believe that access to reliable information, appropriate healthcare, continuous support, and meaningful participation in health-related decisions are essential to enabling people with epilepsy to lead healthier, more independent, and fulfilling lives.

Through our educational, awareness, and digital initiatives, we also strive to make reliable knowledge, services, and relevant resources more accessible to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, while embracing innovation and modern technology to further enhance epilepsy care and support.

Our ambition extends beyond improving epilepsy services. We aspire to build a more informed and supportive society, strengthen the Kingdom’s position in epilepsy education, research, and specialized care, and develop meaningful local and international partnerships that contribute to better outcomes for patients and the wider community.
